Merry Christmas

We had a great holiday and I hope you all did too. Here's a quick storyboard of our holidays! Santa really did come to our house, and I secretly took his picture. My kids were uber spoiled by everyone, and I made my first turkey.

Cullen's First Whole Apple

Okay yeah this is a pretty mundane thing but I wanted to use my camera today and he gave me a good reason to :) Isn't he just the cutest no matter what he does? Today Cullen insisted on eating the apple like his big brother - whole - it was a pretty big apple so no surprise that he didn't finish but I think he did a pretty good job of it.

Caleb Goes...

To See Christmas Lights.

With a Canon S95 in hand, here is the view of Christmas Lights from a 3.5 year olds perspective strapped in his Britax.

*none of these photos have been edited, they were automatically uploaded to flickr via our eye-fi card. **insert sarcasm!

Grandma's mouth in the corner.

Watching Cars 2 on the way home

Last week we also saw Santa at the daycare. Caleb loved the candycane he got, Cullen wasn't to happy about the experience.

Christmas Goodies!

Today I spent the day with my Sisters baking in the kitchen, we made lots of goodies. I went home and had to take some pictures of them.

First up, Peppermint Patties, Yorks has nothing on these babies. They are so delicious!!
Then, Snickerdoodles, yummm; then of course the given sugar cookies, Caleb (and Cullen) even helped decorate them. And finally, I made my first slab of homemade butter! Thanks for looking

Cullen | 15 Months

Cullen had his 15 month well baby appointment and it was the first one of his I missed. I unfortunately had to work, so my mother in law took him to his appointment. I made sure to make a detailed list for her of his recent accomplishments.

Current list of Words:
mama
dada
more
all done
ball
uh oh

He can identify/point to his nose, ears, eyes, mouth.

Anyway he gained a few pounds in the last couple months so that's great, and he's starting to sleep!!

So he also got 2 of the 4 shots that he was due for. When I got home, this is what I saw.

And today I took him out for a couple 15 month portraits, I love this little guy, he's so much fun!

Caleb & Cullen Go...

to Traverse City, point and shoot style.

We had so much fun at Great Wolf Lodge this year, Cullen was just off as soon as we got to the waterpark, and of course Caleb was too. They both had a great time swimming, playing at the arcade, and even battling some Dragons. Yep Caleb had a blast (with help from daddy) playing the MagiQuest game, he even hit some high scores for the day/week/month!!

this was Cullen's favorite 'game' at the arcade, he loved that little firetruck!

Caleb had a very important job this morning, and that was turning ON the waterpark with Willie the wolf. He was scared at first but really loved how he turned all the water on!

And here you can see the leaderboards that play throughout the hotel and in each of the hotel rooms, yep that's Caleb!

Lovely Fall Weather

This weekend we were blessed to have lots of very nice fall weather. On Friday the boys were invited to a halloween party, so we got a few pictures in the costumes.

Before the party, I quickly tried to get a project completed that I planned to do prior. I went out and bought some halloween-y fabrics to make some shirts for the boys for the season and finally put them both together. I love how they turned out, they aren't perfect but I feel like I'm getting better with the sewing machine!

Caleb requested a frankenstein, but he was unwilling to actually model it for me at the time I had the camera out!

Then on Sunday we went outside after naps to do some weeding and cleaning up of the garden, getting it ready for winter. We still have a few plans in the ground (beets, potatoes, and a new crop of lettuce) but everything else has been cleaned out. While we were out there it was so nice that I decided to do a little raking, for some reason I love to rake. The boys also love it cause they like to play in the leaves, so of course I had to drop what I was doing and take some improptu photos. I even got in a couple!

Cullen goes to the hospital

Well yesterday Caleb went to get a hair cut and today Cullen goes to the hospital. It was a planned event, to get tubes put in his ears. He did really well, kinda woke up a little cranky but that's understandable. And of course I documented his first (and hopefully only for a while) surgery through photography. I love how pictures can tell stories.

Caleb Goes...

I finally got around to doing a 2nd edition to my "Caleb goes" series. This time, Caleb goes to get a Hair Cut. My wonderful and very talented sister in law works at Exodus Salon in Saint Clair Shores and we were very happy to go visit her today. Well I correct myself and say I was happy to visit her, Caleb not so much. Caleb hasn't had a real hair cut since he was about 15 months and he got his mullet cut off, let me remind you of that mullet...

Yeah that was a pretty funny blast from the past, but lets move on to present!! Here's a shot I took of Caleb just a week or so ago, his long curly locks that almost everyone loved.

Our trip to get the hair cut started off ok.

But quickly turned sour, Caleb just wasn't wanting to get it cut short, and the more he looked in the mirror the more distressed he got.

Luckily Daddy was able to come up to the salon and make him feel a little better.

Towards the end (and after 3 suckers through the process) he started feeling a little better. By the time we went to dinner I think he had realized that the hair cut wasn't that bad.
