Strawberry Picking!

So we're in this new kick with gardening, and we really love the fresh lettuce - more veggies to come - so I thought that we should try to get some fresh fruit as much as possible.

Today was a great day for going strawberry picking, not to hot, nice gentle breeze. Caleb had a great time. I wasn't even going to bring my camera, but that's nearly impossible for me these days. Caleb does the craziest stuff when you're least expecting it so I really gotta be ready.

He had a great time helping daddy and walking through the rows of strawberries. YUMM!

My Birthday

Thanks everyone who wished me happy birthday, either by sending me an e-mail, a card, a text, a facebook message or even a message on my mom's board! Thanks! I kinda tried to ignore my birthday this year but it seems like some people just won't let it go. I got spoiled at work with a cake from Nino's (yummm!!) and going out to lunch with friends. Then hubby took me out to dinner on his dinner break (he had to work overtime tonight) so when I got home I had flowers sitting on the table, a chick flick I could watch while he was gone, and a present. First time ever I got a video game for MY birthday but OMGosh its awesome. Hubby got me EA Games Active for the Wii and it is soooo great. I have to admit I only made it half way through the first work out. With all the tutorials for the first time it was just taking forever, and yeah it was kind of intense (I guess that's what you get for choosing high intesity). So far so good, and I would definitely recommend it!

Well since I'd rather not post without a picture, here's an oldie that I just re-edited for my portfolio.

I've really been working on my post processing and I am starting to LOVE it, I'm getting more confident in my skin tones and doing a simple clean processing. Of course it helps when you get the exposures right in camera which I think I can confidently say I am doing!

Oh and a shameless plug, if you want to book a session send me a message rachel@augustteaphotography.com session fees are FREE for a limited time! I also offer incentives and gifts if you refer me to your friends!

Growing Garden

I can't believe how big its getting, these pictures were taken after I harvested 4 big salads worth of lettuce! AWESOME, fresh lettuce is seriously the best. I can't wait until the cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots and onions are ready to be harvested!! The soy beans have yet to even sprout up, I'm not sure they are going too :(

slightly different perspective you can really see the height of the tomato plants.

Happy Hawk

So yeah gave Caleb a bath last night, and this is how his hair dried. So hilarious, plus he was just in an overall good mood! Yeah, he's usually in a good mood but this was crazy good mood like laughing hysterically for no real reason.

Fun in the Sun (2)

HA, I put (2) in the title because I've actually used that title before. LOL o'well...

Today we went up to Memorial park and played with some friends of ours. Both of the babies were sooo good at playing with each other, I think they will be good friends! Little Amelie is just so darn smiley and happy, it was fun to get some shots of the two of them.

This is one of my favorites of Amelie

Helpin' Daddy Out

After some hard work, my boy takes a break to tweak his lawn mower. If you need someone to come over and mow the lawn at your house he's getting good at it.

Please Vote...

Does Caleb need a hair cut?? Part of me wants to grow it out more and see if the curls are gonna stay, but I don't want my son walking around looking ridiculous either.

What do you think?

Movies on the Cheap!

OK so I know Redbox has been out for a while now, but we just decided to try it for the first time this weekend. I give it 5 stars!!

So previously we had done Blockbuster's home movie thingy, well it was a pretty good deal since we signed up early into its beginning. I think we paid $20 for 3 movies (at a time) unlimited amount of returns to the instore (as soon as you return it you get a new movie in the mail), and we also got credits for free rentals instore (movies and 1 game a month!)

Anyway last year we decided to cancel our blockbuster membership b/c we just weren't using it. The movies would sit at our house all month unwatched so it was $20 down the drain.

Well then Redbox is here and its fantastic. We can decide when we are in the mood to watch a movie, then we just get in the car drive 1 mile to Walmart and check out a movie at their kiosk. It is only $1 per day (plus tax) so as long as we return it the next day we're golden. Tony passes walmart on his way home from work so that's not a big deal.

So go out and watch a movie!! If you sign up online at redbox.com you can get a free rental every month - I think its pretty easy to find coupons online too.

So what movie did we rent first?? Paul Blart Mall Cop and it was pretty funny.
