He's 1!!

I can't believe how fast this day came. My little baby is now ONE and I guess a toddler. Craziness.

He had his 1 year baby well appointment yesterday. He's on track developmentally and about the 50th percentile all around. I got a great average little boy and that works for me.

Stats:
Weight - 21 lbs 14 oz
Height - 30 inches
Head - 18 inches

He's walking all over the place now, his new favorite thing is to say "HI" and wave, he also blows kisses and knows where the garbage goes (and where his diapers go). He knows what "No" means, although most of the time he just tries to trick us and get away with stuff anyway. He's a climber in every sense of the word. He eats all kinds of big boy food now, no peanut products yet not worth it with all the health scares recently.

And here's a picture with his birthday crown on. Maybe he'll wear it for a little bit at his party.

At this time 1 year ago...

I started having contractions. I can't believe how fast time flies, at 7pm last year on this day my contractions started, at 9:30 I arrived at the hospital, at 11:30 I started pushing, and at 12:10 on February 17th, 2008 Caleb was born. Fast forward 1 year, he is fast asleep in his crib.

Time really does fly!!

What's in my bag...

This is my bag, Friday after work I officially switch over to my 'weekend' bag - ok its a diaper bag but I love it and it works great!


Its a Ju Ju Be bag and I got it for my birthday last year. I think it was around $125 if I remember correctly. But hello style and organization in this sucker!


What's in it:

Okay will start with the front zipper pocket:

Usually my cell phone is in the top right pocket - then I have Caleb's shot records, a bunch of those little wipes you get at Buffalo Wild Wings - comes in really handy with babies, and an old teepee cover (LOL I've never even used this thing but they are so cute and funny). Then I have my wallet/change purse which carries my driver's license, my debit card and my AmEx card. Then I have teething tablets.

Ok in the main compartment I have: (not a lot)

An extra outfit for Caleb - two tupperware with snacks (cheerios and wheat crackers), Kleanex, Dr. Seuss's The Foot Book, and a few baby cracker snacks.

The next pocket is the diaper pocket and it has, get this diapers - 3 to be exact all size 4's - I actually have to restock today, and we lost our wipes case so gotta replace that as well. I also found a stray coupon.

Finally the last little pocket in the back is where the changing pad slides in, I also have a Sandra Boynton book - Blue Hat, Green Hat.

I usually carry toys and more crap, but Its the morning so I haven't restocked yet.

Near Death Experience...

Ok so maybe I didn't almost die, but I felt like I was going to, get this at the Eye Doctors office!!

So Tony and I go in to get our yearly eye check up on Saturday and I of course can't do the puff test. I just can't do it, my eyes are too sensitive and it would take forever. So I just told her no. She said there was an alternative test so I would do that.

Well I don't wear glasses, I was able to see pretty much the bottom line of every test she gave me. Apparently my prescription is so tiny, I would only benefit from wearing my glasses during night driving. Okay now for the substitute for the puff test... They put yellow drops in your eyes, it makes them sticky then they put this blue dot on the front of your eye. OKay good in theory. Apparently I'm allergic or something to the drops because after she put them in my eye I could barely open it, even while holding the lids open. So I force myself to keep my right eye open and she does the blue dot thing, the entire time I am thinking I'm going to vomit. After she finishes with the dot, I tell her I'm going to throw up and pass out. She decided not to even do the left eye it was so bad.

I had to lay on the floor of the exam room for like 15 minutes while her/Tony were fanning me with the door. Apparently I was as white as a ghost. It sucked! So yeah I don't like the eye doctor anymore.

So Caleb's SMART!

So funny story last night, I change Caleb's diaper for bed, and put the used one down so I can go wash my hands. The next thing I know, Caleb has grabbed the diaper and has crawled down the hallway. He then proceeds to put the diaper in the Diaper Genie, and is trying to rotate the top to drop in the diaper. He's so smart, so I go over there and help him rotate the top, then he claps for himself.

LOL Its so funny what they pick up!

Accomplished...

Well today, officially we paid off Tony's car. It's all ours so I guess this is when we start to see all the mechnical problems *knock on wood*. Now if we could just pay off that pesky condo we'd be sitting pretty. HA I doubt we'll be able to pay off the whole condo, but we are trying to get rid of the second loan on it. I had the bright idea of doing an 80/20 when I bought it. I guess the whole market being crap is helping out there b/c my interest rate (adjustable) is really low right now. We're paying about 10x's over the minimum payment so we can get rid of that second loan (I guess its like an equity line of credit?) within the next 18 months. Wouldn't that be great?!

New Blog

So I'm trying out a new blog. I only posted the intro, but hope to really post later tonight.  Its called a 365 blog, go over there and check it out.  It should be fun!!  Feel free to join it, I would love to see what everyone else comes up with!!
