Cullen | 8 Months

WOW I can't believe how fast time is flying by. Cullen is 8 months old and really such a great baby. He says mama and dada now a lot! He's up on all 4's just ready to crawl (really no rush Cullen, mama is fine with you waiting a bit longer!) He is even starting to pull himself up to a stand (although its more like his knees right now). He's such a happy baby and we are so lucky to have him in our lives. Even with all his teething (he currently has 8 teeth and I think getting a few more) he is simply a joy to have. Oh and he's the perfect model right now! I hope he always likes getting his picture taken!

Did I mention how many rolls this kid has?! Its crazy!

Bath time!

Well I already showed you my awesome new bathroom, but here is just 1 way we are really enjoying it. The sink is the perfect size for Cullen right now, and I don't have to break my back to give him a bath. He loves splashing around in there and I love how easy it is.

Bathroom Updates

Woohoo, its just about done!! We are still waiting on a new mirror. I don't think the one that they put up is big enough for me, I want it to fill the space more. We also had to repaint some spots that needed to be patched up. Its all fixed now but I couldn't wait to take the pictures! Oh and our upper cabinet door is getting replaced, it came with a minor scratch at the top so they ordered us a new one. I really love it though. I love everything I picked out (and let me tell you I picked out everything in that bathroom). I love that we splurged on a couple items - like the cabinets and glass accent tile, and I'm okay that we didn't splurge on some things - like the bathtub. We debated getting a jetted tub, but it just wasn't worth the extra $1,000 to us. I love my soaker tub and know that it will get plenty of use! Here are the before and afters! The artwork was something I did pretty quickly after picking the paint for the walls. Since we went with a darker richer shade, I decided I wanted to do images of white bathroom objects on a white background. I really like how they stand out but still look cohesive. Here are the 4 that we chose to display, I actually took quite a few more. I wanted to display them as squares but couldn't find a frame that I loved in such a short time. So 8x10s it is.

Easter!

Easter is right around the corner, and today we woke up to heavy snow falling. Caleb ran outside to get in the car for 'school' and he said to me, "YEAH! Its snowing, I love the snow, can we set up the Christmas tree now!" Yeah umm no! I want summer, or at least a warmish spring! We planted our lettuce seeds a little over a week ago, they are a cool weather crop and pretty hearty so I'm sure they'll survive a little bit of snow. I really look forward to being able to walk outside and pick my own salad! Anyway, back to Easter. I'm really loving Cullen's age right now, he just sits there and smiles at me when I get out the camera, he doesn't really care what crazy/ridiculous things I do to him :) See he's still smiling! I'm not sure if he's happy to have the bunny ears (and tail) off or if he is just laughing at me because of them!

Last week I was able to purchase a new to me lens from a fellow photographer, the Canon 85mm 1.8. I've been wanting the lens for a while now and it was next on my "to purchase" list so I went for it. I just love the yummy bokeh it produces when used properly! It was a very nice day outside so Caleb and I snuck out for a bit, look how happy he was to be outside without a heavy coat on!
